The super talented Smooth
Jazz artist Kirk Whalum has released Into My Soul on the
Warner Bros. Records label.
Refreshingly, this was one of those CDs I was able to
just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to
end. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to
listen to from start to finish.
Into My Soul has a nicely varied, mix of 11 tracks that
are very well written songs by this clearly gifted artist.
With many of the songs displaying a lot of the kind emotion
that makes for a really great listen.
Kirk Whalum is one of those musicians that has the
ability to just bowl you over with his talent. The kind of
artist it’s really a treat to be able to listen to.
Into My Soul is a first rate CD, delivering a little
something for everyone. I give it two thumbs up. It’s quite
simply great listening. A must buy if you're even mildly
into Smooth Jazz music.
While the entire CD is really very good the truly
standout tracks are Into My Soul [track 2], Another
Beautiful Day [track 4], and Memphis Reason [track 8].
My SmoothLee Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore
[...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 3, Hold On I'm
Coming. Good stuff!
